Description: Low Temperature Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids are clear, colorless, and odorless linear Polydimethylsiloxane fluids / PDMS Silicone Oils that range in viscosities from 1.5cSt to 20cSt (centistokes) @ 25°C. They are characterized by their low viscosities, low pour points, good heat capacity, wide service temperature range, stability at extremely low temperature, low viscosity‐to‐temperature coefficients (viscosity changes little even at extremely low temperatures), hydrophobic nature, high dielectric, strength Newtonian behavior under shear, low weight (lighter than water), stability under high pressure, and RI values ranging from 1.3874 to 1.4000.
PSF‐1.5cSt, PSF‐2cSt and PSF‐5cSt Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids are widely used as heat transfer mediums in freeze drying applications.
The low V.T.C. values of Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids make them especially useful in systems and equipment that need to circulate and pump the fluid at low temperatures: freeze drying equipment and laboratory equipment such as low temperature closed loop systems, refrigerated circulating baths, and recirculating chiller baths.

Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids are also widely used Flow Control, Temperature Control, Electronic Control and Pressure Control Technologies. They are particularly effective for use in instruments, sensors and gauges that will operate at extremely low temperatures (pour points as low as ‐100°C). Silicone fluids are hydrophobic and prevent humidity from entering the gauge/instrument housing. This is very important. At low temperatures, water condensation can freeze and cause damage to the sensitive parts within the gauge/instrument housing. Ultimately, Silicone Heat Transfer Fluids will extend the service life of the equipment that it fills and provide more accurate readings even in the harshest of conditions.
